President and Chief Executive Officer
Mike George was named President of QVC, Inc., in November 2005 and Chief Executive Officer in April 2006. He is responsible for overseeing QVC’s operations worldwide, including the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Italy, France, Poland and a joint venture in China.
Under Mike’s leadership, QVC combines the best of retail, media and social to create the most engaging shopping experiences, with 15 broadcast networks reaching more than 360 million homes worldwide, seven websites with more than 1 billion visits in 2016, and 195 social pages. We believe in exceeding the expectations of everyone we touch by delivering the joy of discovery through the power of relationships. Every day, we engage millions of shoppers in a journey of discovery by offering a carefully curated collection of familiar brands and fresh new products, from home and fashion to beauty, electronics and jewelry. Today, QVC produces more live content than any other major network, and we have a large base of highly loyal customers.
QVC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Corporation and is attributed to the QVC Group tracking stock (NASDAQ: QVCA, QVCB). Liberty’s QVC Group also includes zulily, a digital retailer obsessed with bringing customers special finds every day at incredible prices. zulily has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Liberty Interactive Corporation since October 2015.
Mike came to QVC from Dell, Inc., where he was the Chief Marketing Officer and also led its U.S. consumer business. Prior to his time with Dell, Mike was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Co., Inc., and led the firm’s North American Retail Industry Group. He also served as a member of the firm’s partner evaluation committee.
Mike serves on the Board of Directors for Liberty Interactive Corporation, Brinker International, the National Retail Federation, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, and the National Constitution Center, where he also chairs the corporate council. He also is a member of CEO Action for Diversity and Inclusion. Mike served on the Payless ShoeSource Board of Directors from 2003 to 2006, and served on the Kimmel Center Board of Directors for six years.
Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, and his master’s degree in finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
